CO2 Reuse Summit 2019 took place on 7-9 May in Berlin. The conference brought together major stakeholders from the industry to highlight the latest developments related to carbon utilization. We discussed key challenges and opportunities when it comes to technology, economics or policy. It was great 2 days of interactive presentations, case studies and networking sessions plus an interesting site visit to STORE&GO facility on day one.
A well set-up conference covering a broad variety of CCU topics. It offered many opportunities to network
Group Manager, Authorized Officer, AIR LIQUIDE, RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
Great and unique opportunity to overlook the current status and future direction of CCU technology
Senior Research Scientist, KOREA RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY
On 7th May a limited number of our participants had a chance to visit the STORE&GO facility in Falkenhagen.
In May 2018, the methanation plant expansion to the existing power-to-gas facility has officialy opened as a part of the international €28-million (US$33.5-million) STORE&GO research project. While the former facility fed pure hydrogen (“WindGas”) directly into the gas grid, the new methanation plant provides for the generation of “green” methane. In this second stage, hydrogen from regenerative energy sources is converted into methane (CH4), i.e. synthetic natural gas, using CO2 from a bio-ethanol plant.
